Dr Stefan Coghlan

Founder/Chief Executive

Stefan founded Draig Supported Living to attract ethical investment into North Wales, to improve the lives of young people with supported living needs.

An NHS Consultant at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, Stefan is a former director of the British Medical Association and former chairman of Welsh Council. He led the Welsh Consultants Committee and has held numerous senior roles in the Welsh BMA.

He was driven to set up the enterprise in response to his attempts to support his two teenage children with additional needs, discovering that the lack of such facilities was significantly impacting on young peoples ability to reach their potential.

Supporting young people transition into adulthood makes a difference to peoples lives. ‘I set up this organisation to deliver the facilities that will allow our most vulnerable to live the fullest, most independent lives they are able to.’

Jayne Knight

Executive Director

Based in North East Wales, Jayne is the founder of the You Know website, which she set up following her despair in constantly seeing the lack of available, practical information for people who need care, their families, other carers, and professionals  leading often to poor decision making and services. You Know is a one stop place where anyone can go to find the right information about social care, health and housing.

Jayne spent 12 years in a Local Authority in employment and housing, She became a Chief Officer managing a range of responsibilities covering general needs, supported and extra care housing, welfare benefits, social care, day services, general amenities, local planning, parks and recreation.

Jayne moved to run a charity which eventually became one of the of the leading supported living charities, Ling Trust, in the UK. She has worked nationally as a consultant and advocate for many years and has been influential in getting people the right help and advice to get a decent life.

Jayne is very proud of everyone involved in the services for Ling, tenants who were “written off” who have made good lives for themselves, families who have been listened to and heard and staff who always went the extra mile.Jayne is a member of a government advisory group advising on support and housing for people with autism and learning disabilities
